Tom Brady was re-suspended. Why it matters: Brady is definitely in the 3rd act of his career and this may have been the last hope for a Super Bowl run. Oh, and crazy people like our own TOSG. Not so hot take: Don’t the courts have anything better to do than worry about a football player deflating balls to be able to throw them farther. The Steven Avery case and the NFL covering up CTE for 12 years come to mind … Water cooler banter: Pick out the most outspoken, obnoxious Pats fan in the office who can’t get off of Tom Brady’s dick and drop the subtle “Tough break.”

Steph Curry out for 2 weeks. Why it matters: There are only a few players who can change the landscape of the playoffs and shift gambling lines with their absence. Steph Curry is one of those players. Not so hot take: The NBA playoffs are too damn long. Curry could have total leg replacement surgery and still rehab, recover and be back in time for the Finals. I’ll take it one step further and say the NBA season is too long. 82 games too long to be exact. If it wasn’t for the Malice at the Palace, I probably wouldn’t even waste precious words on the Association.

Manziel Indicted. “Johnny Domestic Dispute” was indicted by a grand jury for a misdemeanor stemming from allegations of abuse by his former fling. Why it matters: This definitely isn’t helping Johnny’s case for getting back into the NFL. And he hit a woman. Total scumbag move. Not so hot take: Can someone just find him OD’ed in a gutter already? Let’s just get it over with … Water cooler banter: NEVER bring up Johnny Manziel at work, unless you work for the Cowboy’s organization.

Soccer deaths. In 1989, 96 people were crushed to death at Hillsborough Soccer Stadium in Britain. Yesterday, there was FINALLY a ruling on the tragedy. Why it matters: 96 people died AT A SOCCER GAME. And the court case took 27 YEARS. Not so hot take: Call me an ignorant American, but I had no idea this happened until yesterday. This is absolutely absurd. It would be like 96 people dying at Yankee Stadium or the Rose Bowl. If this isn’t 30 for 30 worthy, I’m not sure what is anymore.
